The Castelo do Bode subsystem, inaugurated in 1987, was extended in 2007, and now has a nominal capacity of 625.000 m3/day.

Vila Franca de Xira - Telheiras Pipeline

The Vila Franca de Xira - Telheiras pipeline runs between the Vila Franca de Xira I Pumping Station and the Telheiras reservoir in Lisbon. Its transport capacity is around 240.000 m³/day.

Circunvalação Pipeline

The Circunvalação pipeline runs between the Vila Franca de Xira II Pumping Station and the Vila Fria reservoir. Its transport capacity is aproximately 410.000 m³/day.

EPAL has two ETA’s, one allocated to the Castelo do Bode sub-system treats the water collected from the Castelo do Bode lagoon and the other treats the water collected in Valada Tejo.
